I've seen several attempts to manage database updates, most of which included having a bunch of numbered scripts which had to be executed manually and in a specific order during any kind of delivery.  What a mess!  I am interested in hearing how you currently manage your database updates (prior to using deltaRunner, of course) in your development environment.
